Inspirations Through Movement offers a variety if classes for all ages: New for our Fall/Spring 2023-2024. Fall classes start January 5th, 2024
PLEASE NOTE: This season there will be a $20 registration fee per a Family. The registration fee will increase to $30 on February 5th.
Adult Ballet:

Description:
All levels. This ballet movement will be adaptable for all ages and stages of life! Learn the beginning terminology or expand on your existing knowledge. Classes are designed to allow for any level of interest in ballet and the physical and mental wellness it provides. Please inquire if interested.
Pricing: Dancers wishing to take Adult ballet can either purchase a 10 class card for $140, or each class is $17 per session.
Ballet
Our ballet program is specifically adaptable to each individual dancer. We believe in Ballet Technique as our basis for movement, and have developed a program that will help each dancer to approach ballet in a healthy, safe and intentional setting. Ballet can be for all! Our ballet classes are designed to follow a structured sequence of training intended to increase student’s technical skills, stamina, & discipline in accordance with their age and physical development while having adaptable movement as per technique level. Our curriculum embraces traditional ballet principles and incorporates elements of the French, Italian, & Russian training systems with that fun "Miss Katie" twist!
Miss Katie will lead your child as they work together, expanding their ballet technique, discover teamwork skills, continue finding self-confidence, while still having that flare of fun energy that is included in all our classes! The goal of Ballet Level A, B, C & D is to impart the fundamentals of classical ballet. Our weekly sessions will focus on basic ballet technique, proper body alignment, French terminology and musicality. Adaptable movement will be provided, as this will be a broad range of ages. Students will be introduced to barre and center work, as well as movement across the floor and a final dance project to be performed in the Winter Showcase as well as Spring.
Level A

Description:
A will focus on proper body alignment, positions of the feet, & French terminology. An introduction to Barre, center and across the floor combinations. This class is for dancers who have taken 2 years of Ballet/Tap/Jazz or 1-2 years of ballet.
Dress code: Leotard, tights, ballet shoes.

Ballet Level B
Teacher: Miss Katie

Time: Mondays 6:30pm--7:30pm
Ages: 9-11, or 1-2 years of Ballet A with Miss Katie
Description:
This class dives deeper into more complex technique and terminology for the art of ballet. Ballet practices include Barre work, center combinations, across the floor, and a final adagio which will help your dancer find grace, agility, and proper ballet alignment. This class is required to retain terminology through reading and memorizing vocabulary.
Dress code: Girls - Leotard, Tights, ballet shoes. Boys - Activewear pants, tee shirt, ballet shoes.
Pricing: $65 a month
Ballet Level C

Time: Tuesdays 4:30pm--5:30pm
Ages: 11-13 or 2-3 years of Ballet B with Miss Katie

Description:
The next level of Ballet, includes all of Level B while going further into complexities of ballet technique.
Ballet Level D
Teacher: Miss Katie
Time: Tuesdays 5:30pm-6:30pm/Pointe 6:30-7pm
Our most advanced level of Ballet for our dancers. Through this class the student will learn the more complex combinations of steps and technique and terminology in the art of ballet. A mixture of Cecchetti and Vaganova forms will be practiced. This class is required to retain terminology through reading and memorizing vocabulary. These dancers are moving towards their Pointe technique.
Dress code: Girls - Leotard, Tights, ballet shoes. Boys - Activewear pants, tee shirt, ballet shoes.
Pricing per month: $65 per month
Additional $15 a month for Pointe
Adult Tap

Time Thursdays 7:30pm-8:30pm

Description:
Our adult tap class is a heart pumping and heart warming environment. An adaptable class fit for any skill level. Regardless of if you’ve been tapping since you were young or this will be your first time, every class builds upon your individual level of technique so you can feel confident in every tap, shuffle, flap, or hop. Taught by both Miss Katie and Miss Megan

Would you like the chance to perform? Do you want to be back on the stage?! We will be spending time in this class focusing on a number for our Spring performance! In this class, you will warm up with us, then we will focus on a number to showcase! This class would only take 1/2 of a session from your 10 class card, or be $5 per session

Description: An introduction to ballet, jazz and tap dance forms. This class will give your little mover technique in three genres in a fun and safe environment! Aspects in the class structure will include the beginnings of terminology and technique in beginner ballet and beginner jazz and beginner tap, center work, combinations, and performance preparation. Our focus in this class; gross mortar skills, early social skills, rhythm, and how to express themselves creatively in a safe space.
Dress code: Leotard, tights, ballet shoes, tap shoes.

Jazz/Acro Level 1: Beginner

Description:
Our Jazz/Acro courses study technique in both dance genres. During this class we will be putting a high emphasis on flexibility and strength as the children learn to tumble and dance in this high energy style. The class will incorporate some hip-hop technique in addition to the jazz and acrobatic movement through lots of great choreography.
Dress code: Leotard, convertible tights, jazz shoes, students can wear shorts/capris over tights, tops.

Jazz/Acro Level 2 -Intermediate:

Time: Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm
Ages: 9-11 or 1-2 full years of Jazz/Acro with Miss Katie
This course will be a more in-depth experience into technique, flexibility, strength, & lifts. More work on our mat for Acro will become a focus for this age group. Warm up, combinations across the floor, mat work, and combinations in preparations for performance. Open to students who have taken Hip Hop/Jazz for 1-2 years. Please contact the studio if you have any questions about Jazz level placement.
Dress code: Leotard, convertible tights, jazz shoes, students can wear shorts/capris over tights, tops.

Contemporary/ Lyrical Level 1 & 2

Description: This class will include techniques pulled from ballet, and contemporary dance forms, creating a combined technique that will make your dancer feel beautiful and strong! A more contemporary style with a jack-of-all-trades feel. This is a good class for exploration and is highly adaptable and fun. This class pairs well with any of our classes to give an extra boost to technique and dance possibilities. Can be taken with any Ballet to better improve technique and posture, turns, and technique

Pre-Pointe and Pointe

If Pointe work is a focus of your ballet dancer, please discuss with Miss Katie B. This class must be coupled with Ballet D.

Adult Jazz/Contemporary

Description:
This class will include aspects of Broadway style movements, with flexibility, strength training and adaptable leaps and turns for any adult! Even if you've never taken a dance class in your life, this would be the one for you! Come have fun with us as we explore movement in a safe and energetic way! This class will also address stretching and relaxation techniques. A class for those who would like to focus solely on their technique and development in the Jazz genre.
Pricing: Adults can purchase a 10 class card for $140 or a drop in class for $17 per class. Venmo, cash or check accepted.

Are you looking for a good introduction to dance class for your little one(s)? Here at Inspirations Through Movement, we believe in fostering the creative mind while your child receives technique through tactile experiences and expressive motion. We want your child’s first dance experience to be one full of safety and fun!
This class is a small intro into the world of ballet vocabulary and technique as well as other forms of dance in a fun and creative atmosphere! Miss Katie will be assisting the young dancer in identifying basic forms of movement through imaginative games, songs, music, & rhythmical patterns while fostering independence. Parents are encouraged to be in the space with their student! Often our students in this class learn; gross mortar skills, early social skills, and how to express themselves creatively in a safe space. Dress code: Leotard, tights, ballet shoes, tap shoes.

Musical Theater Level 1

Jazz/Acro Level 3: Intermediate to Advanced:

Description:
Our Jazz/Acro classes offer a wide range of Jazz technique from Funk style to Broadway style jazz. This class starts with warm up, combinations across the floor, work on our gymnastics mat with safety measures in place and final combinations geared towards performance. Jazz teaches the discipline of dance with strong technique in a fun and upbeat atmosphere. Our Acro portion includes chin stands, handstands, and specific lifts. Jazz 3 will be focused on strength, flexibility, leps and turns. This class has been set at 45 minutes, with the understanding that there will be a lot of work done in a short amount of time.
